Ethernet Over Copper

Communications Infrastructure

Communications Infrastructure

Agencies have come to rely on a network of copper cables to interconnect their traffic control signaling systems. Initially, copper was utilized to transmit basic traffic signaling functions through low-speed analog modems. Today, Agencies are looking to expand and strengthen their communication infrastructure in order to transmit and receive with other devices, such as CCTV surveillance, in addition to the controller signal data at the local intersection. Ethernet Network devices provide agencies the capability to utilize their existing copper infrastructure, and change their low-speed serial communication to high performance Ethernet-over-copper communication.
