Type 170 Test Case

 

The 430 Controller Tester is designed to provide traffic signal operations or maintenance personnel with the means to operate a 170 type controller.

The 430 Tester provides the signal technician with a portable method of interrogating and observing 170 controller operation. 

All controller outputs are connected to a display consisting of an LED array in the lid of the tester. The display section is removable so that either a phase or intersection oriented display may be used. The display is powered by an internal power supply. 

The inputs are connected to eight rows of switches on the bottom panel of the tester and conveniently arranged for ease of operation. The top three rows of switches actuate the vehicle extension/call inputs, row 4 actuates the vehicle extension detectors, row 5 actuates the vehicle call detectors, row 6 actuates the pedestrian inputs, and rows 7 and 8 are for special iinputs. All functions are labeled with their C-1 pin numbers and the switches are on/off momentary actuation type. In order to provide a test of the controller's ability to respond to momentary power interruptions, a power interrupter is supplied. It will turn off controller power for selectable periods of 0.1 to 2.5 seconds. 

The 430 Tester is housed in a highly impact resistant, lightweight, portable case suitable for use in the field, shop or office to test, troubleshoot, demonstrate or burn in a 170 controller. 

Controller outputs are displayed with LEDs of appropriate color; and are identified by their corresponding C-1 terminal number. Two types of displays are available - phase oriented with LEDs in vertical rows, or intersection oriented with LEDs arranged to resemble an 8 phase intersection. These displays are interchangeable. 

The unit comes complete with an owner's manual that provides complete operating and maintenance information.

Warranty
The MTS-Setcon 430 Tester for 170 Controllers shall be warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original shipment.
